Bielefeld University

Bielefeld University is a young university that was founded in 1969. Under the motto “Transcending Boundaries”, it promotes interdisciplinary approaches like Operations Research. There are 14 faculties on the campus with around 23,000 students. With the exception of one lecture hall, all sessions will take place in the central main building. With its large hall, it offers participants an excellent place to meet and exchange ideas. The city center can be reached in a few minutes by tram.

Bielefeld is a medium-sized city with around 340.000 inhabitants and is the regional center of Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL). The city is located between the Ruhr area and Hanover in a rural setting. The Teutoburg Forest crosses the urban area. Bielefeld is well connected via the highway and the ICE network to the international airports in Düsseldorf or Hanover.
